SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Zanie Mae Kelsey Watson, 88, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of David Watson, Sr., died Wednesday evening, February 16, 2011, at Hospice Savannah surrounded by her loving family and close friends.
Born on January 10, 1923, in Waynesboro, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Eugene Kelsey and Mary Tarber Kelsey. Mrs. Watson was a member of Little Bryan Baptist Church in Woodsville.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories eleven children. There are four daughters, Lizzie M. Griffin and Kathleen Scott and her husband, Fletcher, Jr., all of Savannah, Georgia, Mary Polite and her husband, Emanuel, of Hardeeville, South Carolina, and Sylvia Watson of Pooler, Georgia; seven sons, David Watson, Leo Watson and his wife, Idessa, Roy Watson, Calvin Watson and Frank Watson, all of Savannah, Jesse Watson of Washington DC, and Claude Watson and his wife, Saundra, of Jacksonville, Florida; twenty-five grandchildren, and one hundred great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening at Little Bryan Church - 126 Fair Street in Woodsville.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning in Living Hope Community Fellowship - 5008 Augusta Road (Highway 21) in Garden City. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
