William Wilmoth, age 76, of 86 Skyway Drive, Warner Robins died Saturday, November 25, 2023, at his residence.
He was born in Rock Springs, North Carolina to the late Ila Gordon Wilmoth and Helen Loman Wilmoth. He graduated form Savannah High School in 1966 and began working at the Savannah Police Department. His career in law enforcement began in the radio/dispatch department and later, he transferred to his passion in forensics. After being promoted to sergeant, he worked a few years in the auto theft/forgery division. Upon his retirement, he was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He also worked in the security detail at the Chatham County Courthouse for several years and also worked for Gordon's Wrecker Service for 10 years. In 2018, he moved to Warner Robins to be close to his daughter and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mandy Wilmoth and his brothers, James, Robert and Gary.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM Thursday, November 30 in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Services in Savannah. Interment will follow in Greenwich Cemetery in Savannah.
The family will greet friends beginning one hour prior to the service.
