William 'Billy' Eugene Watts, 88, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday evening, November 14, 2019, at Azalealand Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by his family.
He was born in Savannah, Georgia, a son of the late Reginald Earl Watts and the late Lillie Mae Shepherd Watts. Billy was a 1949 graduate of Benedictine College. He enjoyed woodworking but his greatest love was spending time with and doing for his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Reginald Watts; a granddaughter, Aimee Schwartz, and a son-in-law, Larry Crawford.
Survivors include the love of his life, his wife of 69 years, Gloria Jane Lightfoot Watts; one son, Eddie (Mary) Watts; five daughters, Diane (John) Bodie, Nancy (Don) Silkebakken, Judy Crawford, Cindy (Jim) Saba, and Paula (Steve) Tootle; one brother, Michael (Helen) Watts; one sister, Patricia (Alberto) Carrillo; eighteen grandchildren; thirty seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, November 17, 2019, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
A private funeral service will be held at the mausoleum - Hillcrest Abbey ' East.
The family would like to thank the staff of Azalealand Nursing Home for the special, loving care given to Mr. Watts.
