William C 'Bill' Porter, 62, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday evening, June 23, 2016, at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Watertown, South Dakota, he was a son of William Clayton Porter I and the late Adelle Weed Porter. Bill graduated from Windsor Forest High School and attended Armstrong State University. He was an avid and very competitive sports fan who had an intense love for the Atlanta Braves.
Surviving are two daughters, Lindsey Mitchell and her husband, Patrick, and Erica Porter; two sons, William Clayton 'Clay' Porter II and his wife, Jennifer, and Joel Porter and his fianc??e, Chrystal; seven grandchildren, William Clayton Porter III, Aislinn Rebecca Porter, Kayden Wilson Porter, Benjamin Patrick Mitchell, Nora Jane Mitchell, Caroline Davis Mitchell and Addison Porter Mitchell; his father; three sisters, Stacia Blackmore, Leigh Porter Wu, Paige Porter Rutherford; four brothers, Robert Porter, John Porter, Daniel Porter and James Porter, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Monday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock Monday evening in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be private.
