William Harris 'Pat' Pattillo, Jr., 75, of Savannah, Georgia, died Sunday evening, March 27, 2022, at his home following many years of health issues.
Pat was born on December 27, 1946, in the middle of a snowstorm in Newport, Rhode Island, as the only child of the late Captain William Harris Pattillo, Sr., United States Navy (Ret.), and the late Isabell C. Carrio??Pattillo. His father's military career took the family to many new homes and friendships across the United States. Pat also served his country as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable discharge as a Captain, he began his career with a shipping company on the waterfront. His job, which he loved, gave him the opportunity to work at many ports along the East Coast. Pat was known and respected for his skill, knowledge, and safety concerns while loading/unloading ships from around the world.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother, Carol Pattillo, and extended family members.
He is survived by his daughter, Monica Pattillo and partner, Chris Gallovitch; his granddaughter, Grace E. Imholz and her husband, Jake; his great-grandchildren, Mila, Dominic and Isla; his devoted friend, Michaele Powell, and his many family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o'clock Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 3 o'clock Wednesday, March 30, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by the Reverend Father Michael 'Mike' Lubinsky (Ret.). Interment will be private.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses for their medical expertise and compassion in treating Pat and to the staff and friends at John Wesley Villas and Harmony at Savannah for their care and concern while Pat was 'at home'.
