William 'Bill' Ronald Epps Harris, 73, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Sarah Lewis Harris, died Wednesday morning, November 23, 2016, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Savannah, he was a son of the late Matilda Rosenthal Epps. Bill retired after 28 years as a Biomedical Engineer (CBET) in ICU at Candler Hospital. He later worked 8 years as a Biomedical Engineer in the OR at Memorial University Medical Center. Bill enjoyed time with his family, was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, and enjoyed photography and playing the harmonica.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth 'Beth' Teresa Harris.
Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Sarah Lewis Harris; four sons, William R. Harris, Jr., Barry A. Harris and his wife, Sharon, Kevin M. Counterman and his wife, Kimberly, and Jason Counterman and his wife, Lisa; thirteen grandchildren, Michael, Amanda, Charlie, Christopher, Brandon, Ashley, Kaitlyn, Karissa, Kevin, Jr., Emily, Ashton, Lexi and Matthew; four great-grandchildren, Holden, Hailey, Aubrie and Riley; one sister, Jean Hess; one brother, Robert 'Bobby' Epps, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 Saturday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 Saturday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by The Reverend Dr. Dewain E. Smith.
