William Wallace 'Bill' Brown, 72, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Karen Libby Brown, died Thursday morning, April 10, 2014, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late William Wallace Brown and the late Avis Greenwood Brown. Mr. Brown was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired accountant.?? Mr. Brown was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was an avid gardener and a member of the Optimist Club. For the past 15 years in the Optimist Club, he was known as 'The Bike Man', where he enjoyed fixing bikes for the people of our community who couldn't afford them.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Karen Libby Brown of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Richard E. Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, and W. Michael 'Mike' Brown and his wife, Kelly, of Pooler, Georgia; three grandchildren, including Jackson Hudgins, and one brother, Curtis C. Brown of Pooler, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Monday morning at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett. Entombment will be in Hillcrest Abbey ' East.
