Wayne Evans Harper, 68, of Savannah, Georgia, died Friday morning, December 2, 2022, at Hospice Savannah.

Wayne attended school in Savannah at Savannah Christian High School where he excelled in sports. In his senior year, he pitched a 'no hitter' in baseball and was awarded a scholarship to Brewton-Parker College. Wayne spent all his life in Savannah, working in several different meat markets as a Master Butcher. Wayne was a member of Immanuel Baptist church where he was baptized by the minister everyone loved, the Reverend Dr. H.E. Gaddy. He will truly be missed by his sister and extended family.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Walcer Evans Harper and Vernnie Mae Harper; one sister, Betty Faye Harper.

Survivors include one sister, LaVern Harper Riley of Dawsonville, Georgia; three nephews, Alan Riley of Bloomingdale, Georgia, Paul Riley of Monroe, Georgia and Brian Evans Riley of Lindale, Texas; one niece, Paige Riley May of Richmond Hill, Georgia.
Funeral arrangements are private.
