Walter Ornnie Williams, Jr., 61, of Ellabell, Georgia and husband of Deidre Layne 'DeeDee' Blissett Williams, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday afternoon, January 27, 2021, at Candler Hospital with his family at his side.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of Linda Miller Williams Muehlbronner and the late Walter O. Williams, Sr. Walter was a former member of First Baptist Church of Pembroke, where he was a deacon and volunteered many hours doing site work when they built the new sanctuary. He was also part of several hilarious skits with the youth group. Walter was a former chairman of the Deacons at First Baptist Church of Blitchton. He was an active member of Countryside Baptist Church in Guyton. Walter worked for W. O. Williams Lot Clearing and Burke Fuel Oil and Service Station. He founded W. O. Williams Land Development/J-Walt Clearing and Grading and then worked for R. B. Baker Construction. Walter loved spending time with his family and also enjoyed fishing and hunting deer and hogs. He will be remembered for his work ethic, his sense of humor, and his ability to make people laugh.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Deidre Layne 'DeeDee' Blissett Williams; one daughter, Patrisha Lurene Wilson and her husband, Alan Wilson; one son, Walter Ornnie 'Trey' Williams III and his wife, Tammie Marie Williams; four grandchildren, Walter 'Kade' Williams IV, Loren Williams, Alan 'A.J.' Wilson, Jr., and Alena Naomi Wilson; his mother, Linda Miller Williams Muehlbronner; one sister, Karen Jarrell and her husband, Joe; one brother, Jesse Williams and his wife, Tracy, and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, January 30, 2021, at Countryside Baptist Church - 1201 Noel C Conaway Road, Guyton. Interment will be private. The service will be livestreamed on the Countryside Baptist Church Facebook page.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Deidre B. Williams - Walter's Vacation Fund ' c/o 1347 Eldora Road, Ellabell, Georgia 31308-5029.
