Walter Harold Burdette, 81, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Brigid Marie Burdette, died Friday morning, November 18, 2016, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in East Point, Georgia, he was a son of the late Walters Lawrence Burdette and the late Ava Farr Burdette. Mr. Burdette was a United States Army veteran. He was a retired Director of Engineering in the hotel/motel industry. Mr. Burdette loved boating, water skiing, and showing horses.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell 'Willie' Burdette and Raymond Burdette.
Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Brigid Marie Burdette of Savannah; two daughters, Cindy Wilkinson and her husband, Gil, of Peachtree City, Georgia and Pam Denton of Columbus, Georgia; three grandchildren, Katy Giddens and her husband, Jared, Cameron Denton and Arron Denton; four brothers, Walters L. 'Junior' Burdette, Frank Burdette, Thurmond Burdette and Virgil Burdette, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
