Virginia Hendrix Love, 74, went to be with her Lord February 4, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born in Savannah, Georgia, March 3, 1950, to the late Wilmer Hendrix and the late Mary Lee Parnell Hendrix.
She is survived by: a sister, Charlene Sigwald and brother-in-law, Rick of Charleston, SC; her longtime friend, Kathie Barton of Twin City, GA and her devoted fur baby, Bailey.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Donald E. Love, Sr. and numerous cousins.
She was a longtime member of Compassion Christian Church, where she served faithfully in numerous capacities. A proud graduate of Savannah High School, she earned her Bachelor’s degree from Armstrong University and her Master’s degree from the University of Georgia in Vocational Rehabilitation.
She was a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Georgia for over 30 years. For the past seven years, she thoroughly enjoyed working for Llewellyn and Associates Tax and Accounting as an Executive Assistant.
She was a devoted Christian whose life reflected the meaning of her name “Love”. She was a fun loving and caring person with a great sense of humor.
Virginia served as Skipper for the Ladies Auxiliary of the Coffee Bluff Marine Rescue Squadron and volunteered at St. Joseph/Candler Hospital gift shop for many years.
The family will receive friends at 10 o'clock Monday morning at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, Georgia. Funeral services will immediately follow in the chapel. Reverend Rick Monroe will officiate. Burial in Eastside Cemetery, Statesboro, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Compassion Christian Church or the Humane Society of Greater Savannah.
