RICHMOND HILL, GEORGIA - Virginia Cooley Coder, 73, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and formerly of Brooksville, Florida, widow of William Richard Coder, died Thursday evening, October 28, 2010, at Bryan County Health and Rehabilitation.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, on November 1, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Michael Thomas Cooley and the late Virginia Storey Cooley. Mrs. Coder attended Sacred Heart and Cathedral School and graduated from St. Vincent's Academy. She and her husband traveled the world with the United States Air Force.
Surviving are three daughters, Ann Raymond of California, Edith Brown of Arizona, and Debbie Tuttle of Florida; seven grandchildren, A. J., Catlin, Michelle, Zac, Kipper, Patrick and Brendon; three sisters, Margaret Patton of Savannah, Georgia, Catherine Smith of Tybee Island, Georgia, and Michele MacMillan of Richmond Hill, Georgia; several nieces and nephews and dear cousins.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah, with the vigil service being held at 5 o'clock in the funeral home chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Joseph A. Smith. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
