SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Virginia Yost Clary, 87, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Thomas Fenner Clary, Jr., died Thursday evening, August 25, 2010, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Bluefield, West Virginia, she was a daughter of the late James Edward Yost and the late Lucy Gilpin Yost. Mrs. Clary was an active and devoted member of St. Michel and All Angels Episcopal Church. She received her Bachelors Degree from King College in Bristol, Tennessee. Mrs. Clary retired from Savannah-Chatham County Public School System as a sixth grade teacher at Carrie E. Gould Elementary School. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and was known by her family as Nana.
Surviving are one daughter, Lucy J. Harvey and her husband, David, of Richmond Hill, Georgia; one grandson, Wade Lee Harvey; one brother, Joseph Daniel Yost of Tazewell, Virginia, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning in St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church conducted by The Reverend William M. Brock. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
