Vernice 'Vikki' Faye Kennedy Brinson, 79, of Savannah, Georgia, and widow of Robert Lawrence Brinson, Sr., and Patrick 'Pat' Smith, passed away Wednesday morning, April 7, 2021, after a short battle with lung cancer.
Born in Fernandina Beach, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Grady Martin Kennedy and the late Pearl Hollingsworth Kennedy. Vikki was very active in the American Legion Post 184 in Thunderbolt and served as a past president for the Ladies Auxiliary. A dedicated volunteer, she also worked with the American Red Cross and the USO, greeting troops and assisting where needed. Vikki loved to spend time with her family, cooking them country-fried steaks and her popular deviled eggs.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Vikki was predeceased by a daughter, Paige Elizabeth.
Survivors include her sons, Robert L. Brinson, Jr. (Leslie), Carey L. Brinson, Sr. (Kathy); grandchildren, Amber Brinson, Megan Rouleau (Daniel), Jessica Brinson, Adam Brinson, Donald Vickers, Jennifer Heaton (Josh), Carey Brinson, Jr., Elizabeth McCullough (Jeff); great-grandchildren, Jackson, Luke and Matthew Rouleau, and Grayson, Cannen, and Addilyn Heaton; sisters, Rebecca Kaighin and Martha Kinney.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 12 o'clock noon Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
A Celebration of Life will follow from 12 noon until 3 o'clock Saturday, April 10, 2021, at the American Legion Post 184 - 3003 Rowland Avenue in Thunderbolt.
