SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Ursula Lafferty Doyle, 82, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Frederic Gervase Doyle, Jr., died Friday morning, February 19, 2010, at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late William Bernard Lafferty and the late Ursula Corcoran Lafferty. Mrs. Doyle was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She was a graduate of Georgian Court University in New Jersey and had a degree in music with her specialty being the harp. Mrs. Doyle was a past member of the Junior League and the Savannah Yacht Club. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, William B. Lafferty.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet Doyle Dunnington and her husband, Bruce, of Manchester, Vermont, and Margo Doyle Harrison and her husband, Bill, of Savannah, Georgia; five sons, Frederic G. Doyle III and his wife, Susie, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, William Bernard Doyle and his wife, Lisa, of Savannah, Georgia, James Kevin Doyle and his wife, Amanda, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, Michael Christopher Doyle of Rincon, Georgia, and Robert Lafferty Doyle and his wife, Susan, of Savannah, Georgia; eleven grandchildren, Ursula Harrison, William Harrison, Frederic Harrison, Sean Harrison, Kirk Harrison, Joseph Harrison, Katherine Doyle, Adam Doyle, Amy Doyle, Ian Doyle and Melissa Cole, and one sister-in-law, Katherine "Katchie" Doyle Groves of Savannah, Georgia.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:30 o'clock Sunday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rosary service being held at 6:30 o'clock at the church.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend Jeremiah J. McCarthy. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be her five sons and her nephew, Robert Woodruff.
