TSgt Ronald Bishop Tanner, United States Air Force (Ret.), 80, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Patricia 'Pat' Adam Tanner, died Tuesday evening, October 9, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Hugh William Tanner and the late Virginia Pearl Heintz Tanner. Ron was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church where he was a member of The Wayfarers Class. He and Pat were married on December 14, 2013 at White Bluff United Methodist Church. Ron retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service. He later worked for Woerner Trucking as a long distance driver. Ron loved spending time with his family, camping, sports and traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia 'Pat' Adam Tanner; three daughters, Debi Tanner Smeltzer (Jay), Linda Tanner Ibitoye (Gideon) and Sandy Tanner Foster (Jim); two sons, Bill Tanner and Jeff Tanner (Pam); two step-daughters, Debbie Hughes (Bubba) and Sandy Griffin (Brian); grandchildren; great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren, Suzannah Griffin Kurhajian (James), Paddy Griffin, Georgia Griffin and Nolan Hughes, and two sisters, Debra Tanner Bayer (Robert) and Diane Tanner Hasty (Billy).
The funeral service will be held at 6 o'clock Friday evening at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend Josh Duckworth with the family receiving friends after the service until 8 o'clock. Interment will be in Groveport Cemetery in Groveport, Ohio.
