TSgt William 'Bill' Neese Isley, United States Air Force (Ret.), went to his eternal rest on April 13, 2018 at the age of 87 at Hospice Savannah. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and loyal friend.



He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Cecile Dorothy Morin Isley; his son, William Neese Isley, Jr., age 11, and his brother, Col George Howard Isley, Jr., United States Army (Ret.).



He leaves behind his son, Robert M. Isley (Patricia); daughter, Bonnie G. Saba (Stephen); granddaughter, Caitlyn G. Huls (Aaron); great-grandson, Aaron T. Huls, Jr.; sister, Edna Isley Waddell; sister-in-law, Anne Isley, and several nieces and nephews.



Bill was born October 9, 1930 in Burlington, NC to the late George Howard Isley and Dallie Neese Isley. His family relocated to Savannah where he later graduated from Savannah High School with the Class of 1948. Shortly thereafter he enlisted into the US Air Force. During his Air Force career as a firefighter he served around the world including a tour of duty in Vietnam, for which he received the Bronze Star Medal. He retired with the rank of Technical Sergeant after 20 years of honorable service.



Returning to Savannah in 1972, he served with Southside Fire Department and later continued his firefighting career at Hunter Army Airfield for an additional 20 years.



After full retirement Bill and Cecile relished time spent at home with family and friends and travel that included several cruises.



In his final years he enjoyed watching classic westerns on tv and cheering for his Dallas Cowboys. He was an active participant with fellow residents in the group activities at John Wesley Villas. In February of this year he was particularly blessed to welcome into the world his first great-grandson.



Bill\'s generous smile and sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know him.



Visitation, with fire department honors, will be from 5 until7 o'clock Friday, April 20, 2018, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held at 7 o'clock Friday evening, April 20, 2018, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Thomas W. East, Jr.



Interment will be at 1 o\'clock Friday afternoon, October 12, 2018, in St. Mary's Cemetery in Northampton, Massachusetts.
