Tony L. Chancey, 64, of Savannah, Georgia, died Sunday afternoon, June 18, 2017, at his home.



Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Joe Harry Chancey and the late Carrie Lee Shipes Chancey. Tony was a member of The Collegiate Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Episcopal, where he served as Organist and Director of Music for 26 years and was also a member of the Vestry and the Men's Club. He earned a bachelor's degree in music from Georgia Southern University, an associate degree in nursing from Catonsville Community College, and had studied at Westminster Choir College towards a graduate degree. Tony was a registered nurse for 30 years. He was a member of the founding board for the Savannah Children's Choir. Tony liked Ham radios and spending time with his family at their lake house in middle Georgia where he enjoyed fishing and boating.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Chancey.



Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Christina Ruth Borst Chancey of Savannah; one daughter, Rebecca Chancey and her boyfriend, Josh of Statesboro; one son, Phillip Chancey and his fianc??e, Dorothy, of Savannah; his aunt, Marilyn Shipes; Sandra Kay Rush, who was like a sister to him, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.



The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening, June 23, 2017, at The Collegiate Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Episcopal ' 1802 Abercorn Street.



The memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon, June 29, 2017, at The Collegiate Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Episcopal, conducted by The Very Reverend Dr. William Willoughby III.



In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to The Collegiate Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Episcopal - 1802 Abercorn Street, Savannah, Georgia 31401.
