SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA - Timothy Adam Vann, 16, of 210 Woodwind Court, Spartanburg, died Sunday, October 24, 2010. Born January 14, 1994, he was the son of Tim and Priscilla Glen Vann.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Mary Louise Vann of the home, and his paternal grandmother, Mary Beach Vann of Spartanburg. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Col. Joe Vann and his maternal grandparents, Mikell and Mary Glen.
Adam was a student at Spartanburg High School, where he was an honor student. He was a technological whiz who planned one day to have a career in computer security. He loved music and taught himself to play the guitar, including songs by his favorite band, Brand New. He enjoyed playing video games, didn't smoke or drink, and seemed to find humor in all that he did.
Making friends was one of Adam's gifts. Those closest to him are quick to say he never met a stranger and didn't let social class, race, gender or background stand in the way of a friendship.
Adam leaves behind a trail of teachers and friends at Carver Junior High and Spartanburg High as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. We are all better for having him in our lives and he takes with him our undying love.
