Thomas 'Tucker' Edward White, Sr., 86, of Savannah, Georgia and widower of Ann Theresa Byrnes White, died peacefully early Thursday morning, March 24, 2016, at Hospice Savannah.
Born on September 6, 1929, in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late John Patrick White, Sr. and Mary Conneff White. Mr. White attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and Benedictine Military School (Class of '47). He served in the United States Air Force Reserves. Mr. White was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church for many years and, later in life, the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, where he was honored to serve as an usher. He was a proud member of the Hibernian Society of Savannah, St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee and BC Survivors Club.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia White Price and her husband, William J. 'Chub' Price, and Anne White Holland and her husband Jack Holland; one brother, John 'Jack' Patrick White, Jr. and his wife, Jewel White; a sister-in-law, Julie Lingenfelser and her husband, George Lingenfelser, Sr., and two nieces, Mary Anne White Eaton and Angela White Kohel.
Surviving are a devoted and loving daughter, Ann Marie White of Savannah, Georgia; a son, Thomas Edward White, Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of Lombard, Illinois; three grandchildren, Margaret Ann White, Elizabeth Jane White and Thomas Edward White III; a brother-in-law, Jack Byrnes and his wife, Mary Ann; and many loving nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. Mr. White truly cherished each and every one of them.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o\'clock Wednesday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, with the Rosary service being held at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 o\'clock Thursday morning in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Billy Adams, John Byrnes, Pat Holland, Tom Holland, George Lingenfelser, Andrew Price, Joe Welch and Patrick White.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of The Hibernian Society.
