Thomas Eugene 'Gene' Knowles, 81, of Burnsville, North Carolina and husband of Janice Phillips Knowles, died Friday morning, July 19, 2013, at Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation in Spruce Pine, North Carolina.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Janice A. Knowles; three sons: Thomas Knowles, Jr. and his wife, Marcia, of Clark, Wyoming, Robert Knowles and his wife, Polly, of Green Mountain and Jeffrey Knowles and his wife, Lisa, of Pembroke Pines, Florida; a daughter: Norma Poore and her husband, David, of Hickory, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon at the graveside in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
