SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Thomas "Tom" Joseph Brady, Jr., 80, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Delores Keith Brady, died Monday morning, January 30, 2012, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Thomas Joseph Brady, Sr. and the late Nellie Kelly Brady. Mr. Brady was a communicant of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. He was the star basketball player during his high school years at Benedictine. Mr. Brady formerly served in the United States Air Force. He worked at the United States Postal Service for 15 years and retired from the ILA Local #1475 Clerks and Checkers. Mr. Brady was a member of the Hibernian Society, the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, American Legion George K. Gannam Post 184 in Thunderbolt, and the Knights of Columbus - 5588. He was a former golfer and an avid Georgia Southern football fan.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Delores Keith Brady of Savannah, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Jack Keith; three daughters, Alicia Hughes and her husband, William, of Brunswick, Georgia, and Kelly Spiva and her husband, Howard, and Maria Woods, all of Savannah, Georgia; three sons, Thomas "Tommy" J. Brady, III and his wife, Jo, John Brady, and Kevin Brady and his wife, Carrie, all of Savannah, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anne Cooper, Rose Carter, Mary Louise Larrison and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Wednesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church conducted by Monsignor Francis J. Nelson. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: David C. Westall, Jr., Clay Porter, Chris Westall, Keith Miller, Justice Nance, John Keith Brady, II, Stuart Brady, Josh Brady, David Woods and John Joseph Brady.
The family would like to especially thank Jeanette Walker, his caregiver and best friend to the end. Also a special thanks to Savannah Square and Hospice Savannah.
