SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - THOMAS "TOM" ADAMS
Thomas "Tom" Morris Adams, 79, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Sarah Conrad Adams, died Tuesday morning, August 18, 2009, at his home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born in Grays, South Carolina, he was a son of the late John Morris Adams and the late Mildred Anita Smith Adams. Mr. Adams was a member of Faith Primitive Baptist Church. He retired as a salesman for Backus Cadillac after more than thirty years of service. Mr. Adams later worked for Gulf Life Insurance Company as an insurance agent. He was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Adams enjoyed shooting pool, hunting and fishing and really enjoyed his grandchildren.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Sarah Conrad Adams of Savannah, Georgia; one son, J. Morris Adams and his wife, Charlotte, of Ellabell, Georgia; two grandchildren, John Morris Adams, Jr. and his wife, Melissa, and Rebecca Jean Adams; three great-grandchildren, Avery Adams, Emery Adams and Harrison Adams; one sister, Ruth Wetherington and her husband, T. L., of Mount Dora, Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock Thursday evening in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Jim H. Sullivan, Jr. Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, South Carolina.
