Theresa Stackley Buchheit Ryan, 94, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Thomas Joseph Ryan, Jr., died Sunday morning, March 27, 2016, at Hospice Savannah surrounded by her family.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Fred Lewis Buchheit and the late Mary Best Buchheit. Mrs. Ryan was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She was a devoted Christian with a strong faith in God. Mrs. Ryan graduated from Commercial High School. She was a member of the Daughters of Ireland and loved traveling with her family in the United States and Ireland. Mrs. Ryan was a very giving person who also donated her time serving meals at Nativity School and at Benedictine. She adored her family and her friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Aloysius Ryan, Jr.; four sisters, Mozelle Miller, Elizabeth Alonso, Agnes 'Freddie' Buck and Sue Hennessy, and two brothers, Phillip and Frank Buchheit.
Surviving are one daughter, Theresa Schopler and her husband, Dr. Tom, of Hollywood, Florida; three sons, Thomas Joseph Ryan III and his wife, Cindy, Fred L. Ryan and his wife, Debbie, and Robert A. Ryan and his wife, Naomi, all of Savannah, Georgia; seven grandchildren, T. J. Ryan IV, Freddie Ryan, Jr. and his wife, Emily, Matt Ryan and his wife, Vandi, and Daniel Ryan, and six great-grandchildren, Emily, Kathryn and Madison Ryan and Dylan, Hannah and Jason Brown.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o\'clock Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, with the Rosary service being held at 7 o'clock in the funeral home chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o\'clock Friday morning at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend Brett A. Brannen. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
