The Reverend Quentin Arthur Baker, 66, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Margaret Baker, died Sunday afternoon, February 22, 2015.
Born on May 9, 1948 in Ligonier Pennsylvania, he was a son of Ruth Baker and the late Quentin Alfred Baker. He retired from the U.S. Army as a Sergeant First Class after 20 years of service. SFC Baker served in the Vietnam War, Operation Desert Storm, and the Night Stalkers Special Forces. He was a member of the VFW and a Mason. Mr. Baker later retired as a minister having pastored Wildwood, Silk Hope and Robert McIntyre United Methodist churches.
Surviving are his wife Margaret Baker; sons, Quentin 'Rusty' Baker and David Michael Baker; daughters, Heidi Schweier and husband, Philip; and Jacqueline Lee Baker and husband, Mitch; six grandchildren; his mother, Ruth Baker; four brothers, Roy T. Baker, Robert Baker, William Baker, and Philip Baker; three sisters, Marti Etter, Mary Ellen Davis and Margaret Sanner; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p. m. Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a. m. Wednesday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Interment, with full military honors, will be at 2 p. m. at Beaufort National Cemetery.
