Sylvia Norma Kaminsky Blumberg, 87, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of the late Myer 'Mike' Blumberg, died Wednesday evening, February 4, 2014, at Spanish Oaks Hospice.
Mrs. Blumberg was born in Wilmington, North Carolina on March 21, 1926 to the late Morris and Beatrice Kaminsky.?? She lived in Savannah most of her life and was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob.?? Mrs. Blumberg was a graduate of Savannah High School and was a retired sales agent with Life of Georgia.?? She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosamae Kaminsky Alpert.
Surviving are her son, Keith Blumberg of Savannah; three daughters, Vicki Blumberg and Fannie Sexton and her husband, John, all of Savannah, and Karen Hellard and her husband, Ron, of Pegram, Tennessee.?? Her children shared that their mother always said, 'I'm 87 and not in heaven', but now she is.
The family would like to show their gratitude to her devoted sitters, Sonya Green and Pattie Mitchell, as well as the staff of Spanish Oaks Hospice.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
