Susie Hill Axson

On August 11, 2016, Susie went home to meet her Lord and Savior at the age of 95. Susie lived a long and full life in West Columbia. For the past 2 years, Susie lived in Tucson, Arizona with her daughter Janet and spent precious time with her and had the opportunity to peacefully live out her days. Heaven definitely received an Angel!



Born in Chester County on December 30, 1920, she was the daughter of the late John Estes and the late Mary Boyd Gladden Estes. Susie was a life-long stay at home Mom to all she met. She was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church since 1950 and raised her family in Church.



She was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Hill; her sons, William 'Billy' Hill, Larry 'Buck' Hill; her daughter, Pat Hill Burgess; two infants; five brothers, and her second husband, Larry M. Axson.



Susie is survived by her daughter, Janet McKenzie (Gordon) of Tucson Arizona; her son, Alan Axson (Kathie) of Lexington, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 12 until 2 Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Green Hill Baptist Church.



The funeral service will be held at 2 Saturday at Green Hill Baptist Church with burial to follow in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens.
