Susan Carol Mobley Waters, 59, of Fort Mill, South Carolina and formerly of Statesboro, Georgia, died Tuesday morning, May 14, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of Nell Smith Grimm and the late Charles Lindberg Mobley. Susan was a member of Heritage International Ministries in Fort Mill where she also worked in the Web Development Department. She graduated from Armstrong State University with a degree in music. Susan was a very gifted person who enjoyed writing poetry and music and playing her guitar. She loved her family and especially time spent with her grandchildren.
Surviving are one daughter, Carol Leigh Treharn of Sylvania; three sons, W. Mark Waters and his wife, Kathryn, of Statesboro, Christopher 'Chris' M. Waters and Michael A. Waters and his wife, Stormy, all of Savannah; her mother and step-father, Nell S. and W. Peyton Grimm of Savannah; one sister, Nancy Kaye Edmunds of Reidsville; one brother, Charles L. Mobley, Jr. and his wife, Jeannette, of Midway; one half-sister, Dawn Woody and her husband, Richard, of Lula, and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Thursday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at St. Luke United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend Gordon B. Dukes, Jr. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
