Stuart John Sonnen

Stuart \"Stu\" John Sonnen, age 79, peacefully passed at home surrounded by family on May 28, 2022.



Stu attended the University of St Thomas, the University of Minnesota, and Dunwoody College of Technology. He was an exceptional teacher at Hennepin Technical College and later a lifelong field service engineer for Ford Motor Company.



Stu was a world traveler and passionate hobbyist resurrecting vintage trains with city skylines and antique cars with artistic precision. He possessed an uncanny ability to fix anything with a faulty motor. In early life, Stu was a talented Enduro rider, Hill Climber, and engaged in the early onset of Motocross. He was an avid bird watcher and an active member of the Ogeechee Audubon Society.?? Stu attended the Pope\'s Jubilee Year of Mercy in Vatican City and was a devout member of St. James Church. He remained steadfast in his humor: when asked by the nurse where he would like his insulin shot, he responded, \"you can put it in your right arm.\"



Stu was preceded by his parents, John and Georgiana Sonnen. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 53 years, Regi, and children: Eric and Trish. Proud Popop of Owen and Ethan, big brother to Kiki, Mark (Ellen), Marcy (Tom), and a host of family and friends.



A Celebration of Life will be held in Stu\'s home state of MN in late summer.



In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mayo Clinic or performing random acts of kindness to promote a more peaceful world in Stu\'s memory.
