Stuart Murray Scheer, 66, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Machelle Eldridge Scheer, died Saturday afternoon, June 23, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Isadore Scheer and the late Betty Palefsky Scheer. Stuart was a past member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. He proudly served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Stuart graduated from Armstrong State College. He was with the International Longshoremen's Association Clerks and Checkers #1475.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Scheer.
Surviving are his wife, Machelle Eldridge Scheer; two sons, Nicholas Jack Scheer and Nathaniel Weston Scheer; two brothers, William Scheer and his wife, Tess, of Savannah, Georgia, and Edward 'Eddie' Scheer and his wife, Jane Ward, of Atlanta, Georgia; two sisters, Sandra Peters and her husband, Barry, of Atlanta, Georgia, Rosalyn Hirsch and her husband, Dr. Irvin Hirsch, of Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service was held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
