Stephen Francis Borowy, 75, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Arlene Slazevich Borowy, died Saturday evening, May 24, 2014, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he was a son of the late Henry Borowy and the late Pauline Ruda Borowy. Stephen was of the Catholic faith. He was a United States Army Reserves veteran having served 6 years. Stephen retired after 50 years as a Certified Public Accountant with Zimmer and Zimmer, P.C. in Trumbull, Connecticut. He was an avid scholar who constantly studied the civil war and also loved dancing. Stephen loved his family and was known for his honesty, integrity, and always putting others first.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Borowy.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Arlene Slazevich Borowy of Savannah; his daughter, Lorraine Borowy of Fairfield, Connecticut; his son, Dan Borowy and his wife, Julie, of Savannah; his brother, Ted Borowy and his wife, Lucille, of Trumbull; his sister-in-law, Lillian Borowy of Trumbull; one niece and four nephews.
A private service will be held Monday at the graveside, Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Father Mark J. Ross.
