Sonya Hirsch Diamond

Sonya Hirsch Diamond 96 of Savannah Georgia passed away at home peacefully surrounded by her family on March 31, 2024. Born in Savannah, Georgia she was the daughter of Sam and Annie Hirsch. She was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. She graduated from Commercial High School in 1945. She was the one that cared for everyone in the family and was loved by all. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Louis Diamond, son Sanford Jay Diamond, her sisters Bessie Freeman, Dora Rosenburg, Irene Baker, brothers Raymond Hirsch, Dave Hirsch, Harold Hirsch and Julian Hirsch.

Surviving are her daughter Debra J Diamond of Savannah, her caretaker for the last several years, son Gary J Diamond ( Nancy) of Atlanta,Georgia; Grandchildren Chris Diamond, Dana Dudley ( Aaron), Robert Brewer; great grandchildren Briggs Brewer, Mallorie, Morgan and Hannah Dudley; many nieces and nephews; caretaker Janis Parsons and Fiona, Deidra and Tasha from Georgia Hospice Care. She loved all of her fur babies Shorty, Skylar, Jack and Benji.

The funeral services will be held at 3:00 on Monday, April 1 at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avidgor Slatus.
