Sonja T. Lazzaro, 84, of Savannah, Georgia, died Friday afternoon, January 13, 2023, at
Memorial University Medical Center. Sonja died peacefully surrounded by family.
Born in Savannah Georgia on July 23, 1938, Sonja was the daughter of the late Jerry T.
Thomas and the late Willeta B. Horne Thomas.
Sonja adored the city of her birthplace and upbringing. She served as a Savannah
Vistitors’ Guide for some time entertaining all with her wit and historical knowledge.
Sonja maintained relationships with childhood friends and new neighbors alike. Also an
entrepreneur, Sonja founded and operated Sonja’s R.S.V.P., Bed & Breakfast Reservation
Service, Int’l., for many years. Her passion for the arts and keen sense of taste played a
huge role in her life and inspired others.
Sonja leaves behind children, Marcel (David) Soeffner, Anthony Lazzaro (Frances),
grandchildren Josh (Mandy) Soeffner, Aaron Soeffner, Cory (Stephanie) Lazzaro, Ansley
Lazzaro and great-grandchildren, Eli and Brody Soeffner and Teagan Lazzaro.
Services will be private.
