Shirley Lois Tyner, 81, of Pooler, Georgia and wife of Ping English Tyner, died peacefully on Thursday morning, May 8, 2014, at her home.
Born in Dawsonville, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Tom Fouts and the late Carrie Bruce Fouts.?? Mrs. Tyner was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She and her husband owned and operated Great Southern Nurseries in Pooler. Mrs. Tyner was a homemaker who enjoyed flowers, birds and her vegetable garden.
Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Ping English Tyner of Pooler, Georgia; two daughters, Patty T. Rogers and her husband, Michael A. Rogers, and Pamela T. Hayman and her husband, G. Michael Hayman, all of Pooler, Georgia; two grandchildren, Ashley Diane Hartman and G. Michael Hayman, Jr.; one half-brother, Brent Stamey of Dawsonville, Georgia, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Gary L. Johnson. Entombment will be at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro.
