Shirley Ann Cain Solt, 78, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Freddie P. Solt, died Thursday morning, May 16, 2013, at Candler Hospital.??????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Edward Cain and the late Rebecca Cashwell Cain Young. Mrs. Solt was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church. She retired as assistant bookkeeper and Men's Department manager for Kmart after 18 years of service. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Solt Wood; a grandson, Bradley Vincent Hembree; a sister, Sandra Simmons, her step-father, Robert C. Young, Sr., and a brother, Robert C. Young, Jr.
??Surviving are two daughters, Debra Solt Newland of Greer, South Carolina, and Sharon A. Solt of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, John M. Solt, Sr. of Seabrook, Texas and Donald R. Solt of Savannah, Georgia; ten grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Pamela Chaves of Woodbridge, New Jersey.
??The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Monday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
??The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday ??morning at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend John A. Haney. Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey ' West.
