Shirley Marie Sims Lindblad, 78, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Edwin Darrell Lindblad, Sr., died Sunday morning, December 29, 2013, at her home.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Oscar Jefferson Sims and the late Marie Bliss Cramer Sims. Mrs. Lindblad was a member of White Bluff Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker. She thoroughly loved spending time and doing for her family, and will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edwin 'Eddie' Darrell Lindblad, Jr.
Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Brenda Lindblad (Eddie's widow); four daughters, Brenda Diane Lindblad, Sara Jane Yager and her husband, Larry, Shirley Marie Meyer and her husband, Oscar, and Linda Ann Bunch and her husband, Michael; one son, Robert Jefferson Lindblad and his wife, Debbie; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Elizabeth Lindblad, Sarah Ford and Nancy Ryder, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Thursday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning at the graveside, Hillcrest Abbey ' West, conducted by The Reverend Kenneth L. Harrelson.
