SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Sharon Wells Kemper, 74, of Savannah, Georgia, loving partner of Margaret G. Waters, died Thursday morning, February 3, 2011, at home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born in Manteno, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late George Edward Wells and the late Florence Katherine Burns Wells. Sharon was an active member of Unity Church of Savannah since 1994. She received her Bachelor of Arts in History in 1982 and her Masters of Arts in History in 1987 from Armstrong State College. Sharon loved History and loved the people and her life in Savannah. She was a successful member of AA for over twenty eight years. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Lewis and her brother, Ronald Wells.
Surviving are her loving partner of fifteen years, Margaret G. Waters of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, R. Barry Kemper of Santa Clarita, California, and Kurtis Kemper and his wife, Jeanne, of Kennesaw, Georgia; one daughter, Kellee Kemper Milheim and her husband, Russell, of Waldorf, Maryland; one sister, Cathy M. Kurz and her husband, Scott, of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother, Jeffrey S. Wells and his wife, Judy, of Wichita, Kansas; her former husband of thirty seven years, Richard "Dick" B. Kemper of Punta Gorda, Florida; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday morning, March 5, 2011 at Unity Church of Savannah. The family will receive friends at a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall.
