Sherry Roth Dolgoff, adored family member and friend, 79, passed away January 16, 2022.
Sherry is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Norman Dolgoff, her three daughters Marcey Alter (Howard), Karen Hasson (Mark), and Laura Roberson (Terrell), three grandchildren, Taylor Roberson, Sarah and Matthew Hasson, and one great-granddaughter, Layla Skye, and her brother Leonard Roth (Barbara).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillian and Irvin Roth.
A native of Houston, TX, Sherry earned a degree in Education from the University of Texas. Beginning her teaching career in Houston, she taught in public and private schools after she moved with her family to Savannah in 1969. After finding her passion for middle school language arts, Sherry ultimately retired from Chatham County Schools in 2006.
Sherry became an intrinsic part of the Savannah community volunteering in many capacities throughout the years. She was a member of Congregation B\'nai B\'rith Jacob, served as President of the Savannah Jewish Federation and as a board member of the Jewish Educational Alliance. Extremely passionate about teaching Holocaust Education, she was invited to speak at local schools and organizations.
Sherry was a voracious reader, a lover of learning, teaching, and writing, an avid movie goer and excellent cook. She will be remembered for her incredible warmth, vitality, infectious smile, humor, compassion, generosity, and friendship as well as for her leadership and dedication.

The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock, Tuesday afternoon, January 18, 2022, at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
The family will sit Shiva at the residence from 4:30 until 6:30 Tuesday, January 18, 2022, and from
1 o\'clock until 3 o\'clock and 6:30 until 8:30 Wednesday, January 19, 2022, and from 1 o'clock until 3 o'clock and??6:30 until 8:30 Thursday, January 20, 2022.
