SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Selma Greenberg Dunn, 86, of Savannah, Georgia, passed away peacefully on April 30th at St. Joseph's Hospital under the care of Hospice Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jacob Dunn, her parents, Joseph and Rachel Friedman Greenberg, and sisters, Helen Goldstein and Doris Waldman. Selma was a native Savannahian and a lifelong member of Congregation Agudath Achim, where she served on the Board of Directors and was President of the Sisterhood for a number of years. She was a real estate agent before retiring to take care of her husband.
She is survived by: her children, Joan (Edwin) Moore, Joseph (Waynah) Dunn of Atlanta, and Barbara Dunn Pope of Granite Bay, California; a sister, Betty Soskins of Valley Village, California, and grandchildren, Sarah and Michael Dunn and David and Steven Pope. She also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews that loved "Aunt Mamie" for her insights, kindness and affection.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Kenneth R. Leitner.
The family will be sitting Shiva at the home of her niece and nephew, Carol and Hugh Minkovitz.
Her family extends a special thanks to her caregivers, Ellen Malone, Sidonna Burgest and Elizabeth Petrea, who provided great comfort.
