Sara Israel Franco was born on April 20, 1932, to Estrea Alhadeff and Morris Israel. She moved to Georgia from her birthplace of Seattle, Washington, after marrying David Victor Franco (d. 2012).
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Maureen Clodfelter; sister, Mary Piha Cohen, and brothers, Mike, Jack and David Israel.
She is survived by two children, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sara was lovingly cared for by her daughter; granddaughter, Reina Franco, and great-granddaughter, Isabella.
She died peacefully Tuesday evening, October 16, 2018, at her home in Athens, Georgia. She will be forever in our hearts and memories.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah, Georgia, conducted by Rabbi Dr. Ronald D. Gerson.
