SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Sara Swain Waugh (Derr), 52, of Savannah, Georgia, formerly of Mount Joy and Strasburg, Pennsylvania, died unexpectedly on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Born in Newton, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Commander Samuel A. Waugh, USN (Ret.) and Margaret Y. Waugh and the late Patricia M. Swain. She was predeceased by a son, Christopher Snavely of Mount Joy, and a brother, Samuel A. Waugh III.
Surviving are her son, Matthew L. Snavely and his wife, Monica, of Lancaster, her beloved granddaughter, Zandra Grubic, of Mt. Joy, and her loving parents, Samuel A. Waugh and Margaret Y. Waugh of Hampstead, NH,, two brothers, Christopher Waugh of Plaistow, NH, and Peter Waugh and his wife, Monica, of Uxbridge, MA; two nephews, Samuel and Parker Waugh; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and her dear friend Ted Burris of Savannah.
Sara lived life as a contented person, drawing most of her love of life from her family and her many close friends, especially Ted.
A memorial service will be held at 4 o'clock Friday, September 17, 2010 in St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 209 South Market St., Mount Joy, Pa.
