Sandra Ann Lasky Samuels, 78, of Savannah Georgia and wife of Anchel Saul Samuels, died Friday evening, January 11, 2019, at Buckingham South.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Belle Weitz Lasky. Sandra was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and her Masters of Library Science from Armstrong University. Sandra was a media specialist having worked with students at Hancock Day School, Memorial Day School and Rambam Day School. She enjoyed helping and being with her grandchildren and their friends, who affectionately called her Grandma and G-ma. While at the University of Georgia, Sandra was a member of Sigma Delta Tau sorority, and in later years enjoyed reminiscing with her children and grandchildren about her college days. She loved art, couples dancing with Anchel, shopping, and partying with her friends. Sandra was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Ashley Morais White Samuels, and her brother, Lawrence 'Larry' Jules Lasky.
Surviving are her husband, Anchel Samuels; her daughter, Jill Samuels Strauss and her husband, Brad; her son, Scott M. Samuels; her four grandchildren, Jared Samuels, Max Strauss, Allison Samuels and Blake Strauss; her sister-in-law, Betty Weiss, and her nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
