Sandra 'Sandy' Rose Smith Bravo, 66, of Savannah, Georgia, died on her birthday, Tuesday evening, January 15, 2013, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of Mabel Rose Sandlin Smith Doss and the late James Henry Smith, Jr. Sandy was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. She was a cheerleader for the Savannah High School Blue Jackets and was crowned Miss Blue Jacket in 1965. Sandy earned her associates degree in Medical Technology and was a former medical assistant for Southcoast Medical Group in Savannah and Ministering Physicians in Round Rock, Texas. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Dewey Allen Doss.
Survivors include her daughter, Jill M. Zacher and her husband, Matthew, of Austin, Texas; her son, Thomas Cameron 'Cam' Jenkins and his wife, Melissa, of Ellabell, Georgia; her mother, Mabel Rose Sandlin Smith Doss of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, Grayson Gentz, Russell Zacher and Trent Jenkins, and three very special cousins, Charlie 'Bubba' Smith, William 'Bill' Smith and Roy Smith.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Friday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church conducted by The Reverend Jess Reeves. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
