Ruth Burdsal Krauss, 89, of Savannah, died Sunday, July 28, 2019, at Thrive at Deerwood in Jacksonville, Florida.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Virgil Raymond Burdsal and the late Mamie Ruth Holder Burdsal. Ruth was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a former communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. In the early years of their marriage she worked for the telephone company to support their family while Irvin went to pharmacy school.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Ruth Krauss Bazemore; her former husband of 47 years, Irvin Joseph Krauss; a sister, Sylvia A. Hopfer, and two brothers, Charles Lee Burdsal and Virgil Burdsal.
Surviving are her son, Scott A. Krauss; her son-in-law, Dr. James 'Jim' K. Bazemore, Jr., and six grandchildren, Jordan Bazemore, Jake Bazemore, Blake Bazemore, McKenna Bazemore, Connor Krauss and Zachary Krauss.
A memorial service will be held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon, August 17, 2019, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue conducted by Father Patrick S. O'Brien. Inurnment will be in Hillcrest Abbey ' East.
