SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Ruth I. Beckman Burns, 83, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Don Grey Burns, died Monday afternoon, March 28, 2011, at Hospice Savannah surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Broken Bow, Nebraska, she was a daughter of the late Albert Beckman and the late Ola Thomas Beckman. Ruth attended Southside Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She was a loving and caring mother and always put God and her family first in everything that she did. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her son, Don David Burns and three siblings.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary R. Burns, of Savannah, Georgia; her son, Ronald "Ronnie" E. Burns and his wife, Sarah, of Savannah, Georgia; one brother, Wayne Beckman, of California; three grandchildren, Kristy Burns, Jessica Amerson and her husband, Don, and Tammy Lynn; four great grandchildren, Makala Burns, Tyler, Payton and Cody.
The funeral service will be held at 12:30 Friday, April 1, 2011 at the graveside in Augusta Memorial Park-1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro, Virginia 22980.
