SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Ruby Murray Scott, 98, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Hinton Columbus Scott, died Wednesday afternoon, September 22, 2010, at Azalealand Nursing Home under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born September 25, 1911, in Screven County, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Julius Alonza Murray and the late Minnie Sowell Murray. She moved to Savannah in 1923, grew up at White Bluff, and remained in Savannah the rest of her life. Mrs. Scott was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Minnie Ruth "Mickey" and Walker Morgan, Hilda and Johnson Taylor, and Linda and Ernie Sessoms; grandchildren, Dennis Morgan and his wife, Susan, Glenn Morgan and his wife, Sandi, Julie Smoak and her husband, Brett, Jamie Gibson and her husband, Tim, Gary Taylor and his wife, Melissa, Donna Harvey, Shay Scott and her husband, Kerry, Dori LeLoup, Lesley Sessoms and his wife, Judy, and Page Sessoms; and great-grandchildren, Patrick and Caison Morgan, Zach and Jenna Morgan, Landon Smoak, Trey, Ashton, Jonathan and Jared Gibson, Cody and Haley Taylor, Arthur "Chip" Buff, Mallory and Chelsea Scott, Ross LeLoup, and Brandt and Cassidy Sessoms.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning at the graveside, Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park - East Cemetery, conducted by The Reverend Ryan N. Wilson.
