Ruby Purcell Anthony

Ruby Elease Purcell Anthony, 88, of Thunderbolt, Georgia, and widow of Arthur 'Art' Lyle Anthony, died Saturday morning, June 14, 2014, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, Georgia.



Born in Glennville, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Fred W. Purcell and the late Opal Clarice Folsom Purcell. Mrs. Anthony was a charter member of First Freewill Baptist Church.



She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Arthur 'Art' Lyle Anthony; her parents ; a brother, Billy Purcell and a foster brother, Winton Driggers.



Elease is survived by one daughter, Linda Anthony Lee, of Pembroke, Georgia; one son, Wayne A. Anthony and his wife, Faye, of Thunderbolt, Georgia; one sister, Reba Purcell McCoy; one brother, Nolan Ennis Purcell; three grandchildren, Deryle Thomas Lee and his wife, Christy, Gina Lee Futch and Jennifer Anthony Blitch and her husband, Steven and six great-grandchildren.



The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 11:30 o\'clock Wednesday morning at First Freewill Baptist Church.



The funeral service will be held at 11:30 o'clock Wednesday morning in the First Freewill Baptist Church conducted by The Reverend Steven L. Hughes. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens conducted by The Reverend Michael L. Locklear.
