Rosa Cecilia Schweers deBorde went to be with the Lord on July 19, 2018.



Born March 22, 1933 in Augusta, Georgia, 'Rosie' was the daughter of Edward Herman Schweers and Ruth Clare Schweers. She graduated from Mount Saint Joseph High School and attended Augusta Junior College. For 28 years, she worked for the Federal Government as a medical transcriptionist in Columbia, SC and later retired from Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.



Rosie was preceded in death by her husband and best friend, David Vincent deBorde, Sr, her parents, two sisters and brother.



She is survived by her four children, Teresa deBorde Glenn (Terrell), David Vincent deBorde, Jr. (Kate), William (Bill) Edward deBorde (Melissa), Michael Anthony deBorde (Kara), 11 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.



Her life focus was her faith, her family, and serving others. Affectionately called 'Grandma,' she delighted in cooking for and being in the joyful chaos of family gatherings. She took great joy in putting others' needs in front of her own. All who knew Rosie experienced her selfless love and endearing smile.



The family will receive friends from 3'5pm on Sunday, July 22 at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, with a Rosary being held at 5pm in the chapel.



The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Monday at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
