SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Ronita "Juanita" Hinely, 79, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Leland Edward Hinely, Sr., died Thursday evening, September 17, 2009, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Pembroke, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Herman Williams and the late Thelma Butler Williams. Mrs. Hinely was of the Presbyterian faith and a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, traveling and cooking at which she was known for baking the best pies. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Tillman "Doc" Shuman, Sr., and her daughter, Betty Bradley.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Phillips and her husband, Jim, of Garden City, and Gloria Becton of Hahira, Georgia; two sons, Tillman Shuman, Jr. and his wife, Diane, of Jefferson, Georgia, and Leland "Pete" Hinely, and his wife, Sue, of Ludowici, Georgia; one sister, Dorothy Massey of Lawton, Oklahoma; two brothers, Bobby Williams of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Robbie Williams of Shawnee, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren including Jeffrey, whom she reared, and twenty great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Dr. Samuel W. Watkins. Interment will be in Bryan Neck Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Williams, Mike Haddaway, Leland Hinely, Jr., Leland Hinely III, David Williams, and Barry Householder.
