Rondall Ray Matthews

Rondall 'Ron' Ray Matthews, 81, of Savannah, Georgia, and husband of Barbara Ann Ragan Matthews passed away Monday evening, March 21, 2022, at Select Specialty Hospital.



Born in Linden, North Carolina, he was a son of the late Leland James Matthews and the late Emma Irene Murray Matthews. Ron graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in chemistry and went on to work for Crawford and Company as a claims adjuster for forty years. He enjoyed the outdoors particularly hunting, fishing, and working in his garden. Ron was a Freemason and a Shriner of the local Savannah chapters. He was a member of Windsor Forest Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.



Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Barbara Ann Ragan Matthews, sons, Jeffrey 'Jeff' Scott Matthews (Rochelle), Alan Blake Matthews; grandchildren, Kyle Thomas Matthews, Kelly Ann Matthews, and Shelby Blake Matthews; brothers, Dwight Wayne Matthews (Shasta), Foster James Matthews (Margaret) and several nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o'clock, Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
